Welcome,
I'm Claire
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent more than twenty years in the corporate world, first as a lawyer and General Counsel and then as a consultant running my own business, much of that time working with organisations and people navigating change, pressure, and complexity. I have always been interested in what was happening for people, what helped them navigate change and why we can feel stuck.
During my training, I have worked as a bereavement counsellor with Bereft Bereavement Support in Ealing for two years. I have also worked with children and young people through my school placement. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with people facing very different circumstances, while understanding how important it is to meet each person where they are.
I’ve also experienced some fairly significant changes in my own life. I know something about what it is to have to rethink the life you thought you were going to have, and to find your way when things don’t turn out as you expected. I understand responsibility, pressure, change, and what it can be like to be the person who is used to coping.
Today, alongside my private practice, I volunteer as a bereavement counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Support and am a Trustee of Richmond Borough Mind. I bring my professional and lived experience into the room.
You don't need to arrive with everything figured out.
You simply need somewhere to begin.

My Story
How I work
As a counsellor, I work relationally and integratively. That means I don't believe there is one therapeutic approach that works for everyone. I won't try to fit you into a particular model, and I won't tell you what you should do. Sometimes counselling is about looking backwards and understanding where something comes from. Sometimes it's about making sense of what is happening now. Sometimes it's about finding enough space to work out what comes next.
We'll work together to understand what's going on for you, at a pace that feels manageable.

Our relationship
The relationship between us matters.
I want you to feel that you can be honest, especially about the things that may be difficult to say out loud. I don't think counselling or coaching has to be about making huge changes all at once.
Sometimes noticing something differently is where change begins
